49ers vs Panthers Oct 24, 2010

I ticked off another thing from my "bucket list" today
and attended my first NFL game...I went down to watch
the Panthers play the 49ers...It was the perfect day...Sunny,
clear and mid 70s...
Surprisingly there were a lot of 49er fans there...

Bank of America Stadium

I got there when they opened at 11am so I could
sit and watch all the pre-game events...

The Panther!

There really isn't a bad seat in the place...

This is from my seat...

NO! Im not a trator but if Im there Ill root for
the home team...That is unless they are playing
the Giants...lol
Besides I was in the shade the whole game and
it got chilly over there with the light breeze...

Of course I had to work on my "cardiac attack"...
Philly Cheese Steak and a bud lite...

The "TopCats" Cheer squad...

The Panthers coming onto the field...

The National Anthem...

The coin toss...Carolina won...

Mike Singletary on the sidelines (Standing alone
on the white part)...

This is hard to see but the guy on the field on the
left is the official "tv timeout guy"...He has orange
sleeves on to let the officials know when its time
for stoppage...You don't realize it but there is a lot
of standing around waiting...

At halftime they had the Jr TopCat Cheer team out...

More cheerleaders... :-D

After the 49ers scored with 6 minutes left, a lot
of people left...

They shouldn't have because with 2 minutes left
here are the Panthers on the drive...

And then the tie-ing touchdown...Hard to see but
the ball is above the NFL insignia and is being thrown
to the guy in the lower right corner...

The Panthers got the ball back again and came
right down for the winning field goal with 37 seconds
left...

First Panther win of the season...

Oct 18-19, 2010

On the 18th Tim and I went north to
cut firewood on the lot...

This was the wood from the maple that was
down on the ground already...

Tim and my "lumberjacking"...How'd we do dad?

The start...Notch is cut on the left so it falls that direction...

Why wont this thing go?

"CRAP!!"

Hmmmm...

"Timbeeeeeeeeeer!"

This is the stump from the oak...We estimated
it to be about 80 years old and 90+ feet tall...

This is one of the upper logs...This was a nice tree...
Would have made some nice boards from it...

There was one thing I was glad there were no video
cameras going...Tim and I were rolling a log when the
jack handle broke and as Tim put it, I fell gracefully
over the logs and on my back...lol

After cutting logs I started to head for home...
On the way I stopped at Orange County
Choppers...Didn't get to see the gang but they
do film the show from here and you can watch
as they tape...

The bikes!

After spending the night in Wilmington, DE,
I went on to Va Beach to see my godson and
family...Here is Denise, Josh, Angie, Joey and
Guinness...

Guinness showing off his football skills...

Oct 10th-14th, 2010

I got up early the next morning and headed on to
Albany NY. It was amazing to see that the trees
had already turned that quite a bit.

The following day I headed up to our lot in the
Adirondacks...This is a beaver dam across from
our old house.

Driving down back I came across this little doe.
She wasnt scared and just stood there watching
me as I drove by.

On the 14th I got together with old co-workers
and friends for lunch.

After lunch I headed out to Duanesburg to see
the old house where I grew up. More importantly
I went out back to see if the cabin Tim and I
built was still standing.
It was in rough shape but still very much there
after 34 years.

As I was out walking in the woods behind the house
I came across an old cemetery that we all never
knew existed. Dates on a couple of stones read
mid-1800's.

I ran down to my old HS and they had a soccer
game going on so I stopped to watch. This is
the baseball field. They turned the field some
since I played there.

If you look past the field you can see a clearing up back.
This used to be woods but as I drove up there, it
is now another soccer field.

Oct 9th, 2010

Today had me meeting up with Debbie (Neadle), an HS classmate
from Duanesburg...She took me all over Pittsburgh to show me the
city...It was a perfect fall day.

The view from Debbies balcony.

The famous red shoes...And Im told this is only
half of them...lol

We went to a restaurant that overlooked the
city...It was a perfect day for this. This is looking
down the Ohio River.

Heinz Field where the Steelers play...Debbie tried to
get me to wear a Steelers shirt but it didnt happen...lol

Looking towards the downtown area.

They have a tram that runs down to the lower level.

The Pittsburgh Salad...Complete with fries on it.

Debbie and I with Pittsburgh behind us.

The train station.

Sunset from Debbie's balcony.
